Superfood Porridge

Start your day with a hearty, nutrient-packed bowl of superfood porridge. This blend of quinoa, barley, and nourishing seeds helps support digestion and promote heart health.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • ½ cup instant quinoa flakes 
  • ½ cup barley flakes 
  • ¼ cup hemp hearts 
  • ¼ cup almonds, sliced 
  • ¼ cup brazil nuts, chopped 
  • ¼ cup chia seeds 
  • Pinch of salt 
  • 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
  • ¼ cup dates, chopped 
  • ¼ cup blueberries
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 cup soy milk 
  • 1 cup water 
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup 
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

Directions

  1. In a small pot, combine the quinoa and barley flakes, soy milk, water, and cinnamon powder. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  2. As the mixture nears boiling, add the sliced almonds, chopped Brazil nuts, ground flaxseed, chia seeds, hemp hearts, chopped dates, blueberries, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Stir in the maple syrup and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the flakes are soft and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl. Top with sliced bananas and enjoy!
