Superfood Porridge
Start your day with a hearty, nutrient-packed bowl of superfood porridge. This blend of quinoa, barley, and nourishing seeds helps support digestion and promote heart health.
Ingredients (Serves 4)
- ½ cup instant quinoa flakes
- ½ cup barley flakes
- ¼ cup hemp hearts
- ¼ cup almonds, sliced
- ¼ cup brazil nuts, chopped
- ¼ cup chia seeds
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
- ¼ cup dates, chopped
- ¼ cup blueberries
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1 cup soy milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Directions
- In a small pot, combine the quinoa and barley flakes, soy milk, water, and cinnamon powder. Stir well and bring to a boil.
- As the mixture nears boiling, add the sliced almonds, chopped Brazil nuts, ground flaxseed, chia seeds, hemp hearts, chopped dates, blueberries, and a pinch of salt.
- Stir in the maple syrup and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the flakes are soft and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl. Top with sliced bananas and enjoy!
